LEVEL TWO: MONDAYS,MAR 2-30; 5:30-7:00 pm

This class is designed to follow Level 1, but new students are welcome to join! A review of previously covered material will be included. Learn the basics, build on new skills and improve your knowlegdge of color theory. We will practice and complete multiple projects applying what we learn. Returning students welcome!

Let’s explore the wonderful world of watercolor paint! This class is a beginners guide to getting started with watercolor painting. We we begin by exploring watercolor materials and the basics of watercolor painting. Then, we will dabble in some color theory and maybe even use some “unlikely” materials! We will complete exercises and projects to apply what we learn.
On Week 1, We will explore materials and give a supply list for this course. Feel free to bring any watercolor materials that you may already have.

WEDNESDAYS: 10:00-11:30 am
Want to continue your watercolor studies and practice in a group setting? Join us as we work on a project applying basic techniques. All skill levels welcome. Please bring your own watercolor paper and materials.
Each week we will do a different themed project!
March 4, Moths & Butterflies
Explore symmetry, pattern, and vibrant color while painting butterflies and moths. Participants will experiment with wet-on-wet techniques to create magical wing effects. (Optional: Bring reference photos)
March 11, Watercolor Play Lab
An experimental watercolor workshop focused on exploration, texture, and discovery. Try salt, splatter, lifting, and other playful techniques.
March 18, Color Mixing with Watercolor
Learn how to mix vibrant, harmonious colors and avoid muddy washes. A great skill-builder for all levels.
March 25, Watercolor Workshop: Snacks
Practice drawing from life. (*Bring your favorite snack to be your “model”… muffin, donut, fruit, chips, etc.)
Turn your favorite snacks into playful watercolor art! Paint treats while exploring bold color, shading, and fun textures.
April 1, Mushrooms & Toadstools
Explore earthy colors, playful shapes, and rich textures while painting storybook-inspired mushrooms and toadstools. This workshop focuses on loose washes, layering, and creative details. (Optional: Bring reference photos)
April 22, Floral Wreaths
Create a balanced floral wreath while learning simple composition techniques. Explore layering, repetition, and flow to design a cohesive circular artwork.
May 6, Houseplants
Paint popular houseplants like monstera, pothos, and succulents using fresh greens and simple shapes. This workshop focuses on leaf forms, texture, and color variation. (Optional: Bring reference photos)
May 13, Figures Made Simple
Learn how to paint simplified human figures using loose shapes and expressive brushstrokes. This workshop focuses on proportion, movement, and capturing gesture without getting caught up in details—perfect for building confidence.
May 20, Wildflower Meadows
Paint a loose, colorful wildflower meadow using expressive brushstrokes and blended washes. This workshop focuses on color mixing, movement, and letting go of perfection.
